April showers bring May flowers.
Hi there! Happy May! It’s been raining so much in New York recently, and I absolutely love it. Rainy weather has always been my favorite type of weather. There’s just something so magical and romantic about moody rainy days that make way for cozy afternoons and slow evenings. All of this rain is also making me so excited for the blooms that will spring forth over the next few weeks. Central Park is already looking so beautiful, and I can’t wait to be able to explore the rest of the city again to see what some of my other favorite areas are looking like.
As we start a new month, I’d love to introduce a new series to you: Monthly Note
I have truly been loving being able to share more glimpses inside our daily lives on Instagram Stories, and wanted to translate that into a special series on the blog for you. I love sharing the things that are currently inspiring me, what we’ve been up to at home, and what we’re looking ahead to. This new post will highlight the things that are bringing joy and light in. I have always loved the thought of each month opening the door for us to a brand new start. A new beginning towards endless and beautiful possibilities… As we dive into a new month, I’m planning to shift my focus towards embracing the wonderful everyday occurrences, our constant daily blessings, and the coziest of moments at home.

INSPIRED BY
I’ve been so inspired recently by the way that others are shifting there focus to happy, thoughtful, and elevated moments at home. From those tapping into their inner Martha Stewart and creating beautiful moments in their spaces, to those embracing their new normal by finding joy in the everyday. I’m absolutely loving the IGTV videos that Alicia Lunda has been creating from her home recently. Her How To Make Your Weekend Special series is so fun and serves as a breath of fresh air. (If you haven’t watched her video on Homemade Pasta, you should ASAP!) I’ve also been updating my Pinterest boards recently, and created a board dedicated to everything we currently have in our apartment! I’ve received so many questions from you lately on pieces that we have at home, where they’re from, dimensions, etc… and thought it would be fun to house them all on this board for you! Pinterest has been a constant source of inspiration for me, and it’s definitely my happy place right now. A few boards I’m also adding on to more frequently: Sutlief Home (inspiration for our future home!), Dreamy Scenes (a visual escape to beautiful places), and Summer (daydreaming about sunshine and alfresco moments.)
MAY TO-DO
Nathan and I have fully begun to embrace our inner chefs, and we’ve been making the most of our time in quarantine by whipping up a few new dishes in our baby New York City kitchen. It’s been so much fun getting creative in other areas of our lives together, and we plan to continue this new awakening by dabbling into more home projects, upcoming apartment updates, lots of at-home cooking, and new hobbies. Also on my list: more reading, at-home workouts, long walks on sunny days (we have one planned for this weekend since the weather will be nice!), and finding creative ways to have fun at home. We’ve fully embraced slow living, and I’m loving it.
Along with a slower pace of life, I’m currently in full hibernation mode too, and have been making some fun new purchases for our apartment (and for my closet!) recently. Below are a few recent buys currently making me happy.
